A Creevey Christmas Eve

I lean over the bed and look underneath. Not there. I glance around the room again. How is it I always lose something. I did find my shoes, both of them. However, I can't find my scarf. Maybe I don't need it, but it could be chilly outside and I want to be ready.

Luna walks into the room, already bundled up and looking a little like the marshmallow Mary from her homemade crèche. "What are you looking for?"

"My scarf," I answer. "I can't find it anywhere. I just had it this morning too."

Work and Suppertime in Spain

I hang up another picture and then look at the row currently hanging up. It won't take long before I can take some of them off. However, I have to make sure they are completely dry or they could be wrecked. I learned that the hard way. More than once.

I've been very busy since I got here. I was nervous when Nicolas and I arrived here. Madrid isn't anything like London or any other place in England. I also was wondering about meeting the owners, who are Nicolas' uncle and aunt. His uncle is nice, friendly even. His aunt is almost the opposite. She's very quiet and reserved. They are both very different from each other. I think that because I am more like his uncle, I feel a bit more comfortable working with him. Sometimes when I have been in the store, his aunt has also surprised me. Either I don't notice she is there, or she enters without saying a word and then I see her watching me. However, she's nice enough.

Discussing The International Offer

After my lunch with Vicky, I walk down Diagon Alley, already amazed at how chilly it is. It is November. I think back to how things were last November. A lot has changed, but for the good. I whistle slightly as I walk, even though some people give me odd looks. I don't mind. It's a nice day and things are going well, even though I'm nervous about this meeting. I was nervous about Nina and Nicolas liking my work and now there are others who will be judging it as well.

Arriving at Travetti's Specialties, I enter through the door that leads to the jewelry. It's warmer so I unbutton my jacket as I glance around for Nina.

Ties, Tenderness, and Turpentine

I come down the stairs carefully, feeling for each one since I can't see over the boxes I'm carrying. I had to buy supplies for the photo shoots I'm going on and I wanted to be prepared. It's a lot though. "Luna?" I call as I finally reach the floor. She said she'd be home, but I haven't seen her. Of course, until I put these boxes down, I won't be able to see anything. I can't even see my trainers.

"I am in the bedroom!" she calls out and I hear the squeaking bedsprings, followed by her feet on the floor. "Oh my, you have quite a lot."

"I wanted to be prepared," I answer. "Do you think you could get the door?" I ask, shifting the boxes. I don't want to drop these, especially the chemicals.

The sound of her hurrying feet passes by me and I catch a glimpse of her bare ankle before the door to my left is opened and the candles lit.

"Thank you," I smile, though she can't see it and I start forward again, careful. I don't want to have brought them all the way here then run into a wall.

An International Offer

After delivering the money from Susan to the vault (and of course, an interesting ride through the twists and turns in Gringotts), I start toward Travetti's Specialties, still wondering what Nina wants to talk about. There wasn't much of a hint as to what she wants to talk about. I arrive at the store and enter through door that leads to the jewelry.

I spotted Nina on one end, looking like she was setting something inside a glass case. She was also talking with the witch I met once before when I was in here, her assistant. Because she looked a little busy, I decided to wait. Looking around I noticed that the large display I saw in the center of the rings was no longer there.

"Hello, Colin," I hear Nina call out. "I will be with you in a moment."

Looking for Luna's Father

I look at the check and take out some of the money I brought with me. I give Luna another hug, then walk up to Rosmerta to pay for our meal. I don't know Luna's father well, but I can only imagine what it would be like if it was Dad.

Rosmerta's smile's a little sad when she takes the money and thanks us. I can see behind her that George is in a corner, staring into the wall. He looks a little moody, which is strange for the Weasley twins. I never knew them to do anything but laugh.

I turn back to Luna and wrap an arm around her waist. "Are you ready to go?"

After Dinner Ribbons

I come back from shopping with a small jar. It isn't much, but I was needing some more chemicals for my film. I try to purchase them one at a time, so I never run out of more than one thing. However, then the problem is remembering to get more before I start developing. I used the last bit on Susan Bones' pictures and now have a few more to develop, a roll of film from California that I had missed somehow. I wonder what's on it.

When I walk into the sitting room, I find Luna sitting cross-legged in the middle of the floor with a stone basin beside her, knitting a small silver ribbon. It looks like she's almost done. When the door closes behind me she looks up and smiles. "Oh! I am glad you are home!"

Delivering the Poliakoff Photographs

I collect all of the pictures I've taken for the Poliakoffs. There are more than I thought, especially since I left some for Nina when I went to take pictures for Nicolas. Luckily, I was careful to not mix them with other pictures I've taken.

We've sent a few owls back and forth and decided to meet today so I could bring the rest of the pictures and they could look at them. I hope they like them. I have to admit, I'm nervous. What if they don't?

Photoshoot at Travetti's

I arrive at Travetti's Specialties about ten minutes before it closes so I can look around before setting up when the store closes. I know Nina and Nicolas told me that it wouldn't be too busy, especially now that school has started, but I didn't want to interrupt their business.

I have been excited about this all day and just hope that I do as well as they'd like. I shift one of my camera bags as I open the door, stepping in. I brought two different cameras, which means I need the necessary items for each, including lens and film.

Conversation In Cauldron Leads To First Official Job

Between moving into our new house, I've been asking around various stores and even a few studios, showing my portfolios. However, all of them said there were no openings available. One said they would keep my information on file, but it didn't sound promising. It's been discouraging. I didn't know it would be this hard. Maybe this is why Mum worked independently and not through a studio. Yet, how did she get started? I wish I knew that. Maybe Dad knows. I'll have to ask him.
